There are no direct reports with this position.
Under limited supervision, the Inventory Control Lead prioritizes, assigns and leads activities associated with recording, tracking and control of all inventory items within the distribution environment. Employees in this job class oversee cycle counting, review inventory slotting requirements, handle inventory inquiries from internal customers and establish new part/bin setups within the facility. This job class requires knowledge of inventory concepts and practices, and the ability to review inventory discrepancies, conduct trend or root cause analyses, and lead a work team.
1. Oversees inventory control activities within the distribution environment. Prioritizes and assigns work, trains employees, and monitors progress of tasks through to completion.
2. Distributes work among team members, rebalancing as necessary to allow for special projects and incoming requests.
3. Supervises cycle counts of inventoried items; ensures daily counts are loaded and adjusts shift times as needed for completion.
4. Coordinates the process of researching, identifying and adjusting discrepant product counts within multiple product lines. Researches adjustments to ensure due process was followed.
5. Performs inventory checks in response to both internal and external customer email requests. Researches systematic and physical inventory movement to identify discrepancies and responds by making inventory adjustments, part conversions, systematic transactions, or by initiating special projects.
6. Compiles data from cycle counts and inputs into ERP/WMS system for adjustment approval and finalization.
7. Investigates and reports root cause analyses of system discrepancies and transaction errors; adjusts inventory and recommends process improvements to resolve identified problems.
8. Communicates and interacts with other departments, supervisors, planners, buyers, managers and customers to adjust discrepant inventory, locate lost inventory, complete parts rolls, and resolve discrepancies.
9. Tracks and monitors part demand activity for warehouse slotting requirements.
10. Coordinates the systematic part conversion process, the consolidation and return of wrong parts pulled, and the assignment of primary and overflow pick bin locations for all newly received parts numbers.
11. Coordinates items slated for both physical and systematic disposition.
12. Prepares documents and produces reports, spreadsheets, charts and training documentation.
13. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Denotes Essential Job Function
? Two years of related experience in inventory control or warehousing;
? Knowledge of commonly used inventory control concepts and practices, and the skill to analyze and resolve inventory discrepancy root causes;
? Experience operating a forklift, RF Scan Gun, Pallet Ryder and other material handling equipment;
? Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from team, customers and others;
? Effective written communication skills using appropriate business English;
? Human relations skills to maintain effective working relationships with team;
? Effective customer service skills;
? Intermediate computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
? Basic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;
? Demonstrated customer service, problem solving and common sense skills.
High School Diploma or GED
The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:

Valid Driver's License
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:
? Maneuvering in and around the warehouse
? Bending and stooping
? Lifting and moving boxes weighing up to 35 pounds
? Pulling or pushing up to 75 pounds
? May require using a pallet jack
? Climbing on and off material handling equipment
? Viewing Computer screen
? Utilizing keyboard
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with forklifts and production equipment. Employees may be exposed to noise from equipment in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to elevated temperatures, high heat, occasional fumes, toxic chemicals, and airborne particles.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
